A 7,000-square-foot open loft in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay serves as the foundation for the design of a dynamic new office space. A Silicon Valley-based technology company sought a design that feels less like a traditional office and more like a warm, welcoming environment where employees and consultants can collaborate and meet.
The central concept revolves around creating a "village center" at the heart of the space, designed as a casual gathering area. This "village center" includes a kitchen with a central counter, surrounded by comfortable lounge seating. Behind it, a screen wall serves as an organizational element, separating a private circulation zone leading to the bathrooms, storage, and stairs. This screen wall features a sculptural abstraction of the company’s name. Surrounding the "village center" are more formal workspaces and meeting rooms, balancing the casual atmosphere with functional office areas.
